Is Your House Ready for Winter?

Home Winterization InspectionWith winter approaching, it's time to make sure your home is protected from the elements. Two common problems we see are a lack of insulation, resulting in heat loss and higher electric or gas bills, and moisture in the home's crawl space or basement, which can cause mold issues and attract termites. Not sure if your home is at risk? Clegg's offers current customers a free Home Winterization Inspection. We'll check the insulation rating values in your attic and crawl space (or basement), and measure the moisture under your home to ensure the levels are within range. For any Insulation/Moisture Control Services sold at the time of your Home Winterization Inspection, Clegg's would like to offer a 15% discount on the initial service. Give us a call at 1.888.MR.CLEGG or send an email to to schedule an appointment.

Thanksgiving Made Better

Happy Thanksgiving from the Clegg's TeamThe holiday season is upon us, bringing not only warm times with family and friends, but a bit of craziness as we all prepare! We want to share a few tips to make the Thanksgiving holiday easier, safer and better for you and your loved ones:

1. The Wednesday before and the Sunday after Thanksgiving are expected to be two of the busiest travel days of the year. If your schedule is flexible, you may want to avoid traveling on those days. Leave extra time to get to your destination, and pack your patience.

2. Don't post travel plans on social media sites; crooks are looking for this type of information. Wait until you're home again and post pictures of your visit.

3. If you are driving, make sure to do a safety check of your car before you go, including checking the tire pressure in your spare (easy to forget!). Take water, snacks and toys for the kids in case you get stuck in traffic.

4. If you are overwhelmed by the thought of cooking a turkey with all the fixin's, and then cleaning everything up, check with your favorite grocery store. Many offer full holiday dinners that you simply heat up. Buy some attractive (but sturdy) paper plates and heavy weight plastic utensils. Optionally, if you've got company coming for dinner, provide the main course and ask everyone to bring side dishes. When it comes right down to it, the holiday should be about friends and family-not just food.

5. De-stress by planning some fun activities. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, schedule a massage or go for a hike.

6. Recognize how lucky you are. Volunteer to help serve Thanksgiving meals at a local shelter.

7. Know someone single (or a solider far from home) who doesn't have holiday plans? Invite him or her to spend the day with your family.

Everyone at the Clegg's team wishes you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
